[Scene: A Restaurant, Phoebe, Rachel, and Monica are having brunch.]

been doing some thinking about who should be my maid of honor.
maid of honor: 首席女傧相
【maid of honor只能有一个,因此有个词就叫首席伴娘而bridesmaid可以有好几个,所

-Monica: If Phoebe were my maid of honor…
如果Phoebe是我的伴娘…...
-Rachel: Uh-hmm.
嗯哼。
-Monica: Rachel would be Phoebe’s, I would be Rachel’s,
Rachel会是Phoebe的,我会是Rachel的,
that way we all get to do it once and no one would get upset.

那是最精彩的部分。嗯,你们来决定吧!
-Phoebe: Wh-why is that the best part?

means they’re sleeping together. Not like Joey is at one end and Ross is on the other,
they both happen to be lying down and sleeping together. Well, there hasn’t been any
clothes removed so not that kind of sleeping together. Not that there’s anything wrong
with that. That is unless you’re a Republican in which that kind of thing will bring about
the downfall of Western society, especially if they should happen to want to get married.
